“I am a huge fan of Medicine Flower extracts. I use them in absolutely everything, from fruit or protein smoothies to intensify the flavor, to soda water with stevia for a great diet treat, to any baked good requiring flavoring (think almond or lemon extract). Blueberry and vanilla extracts add a wonderful sensory treat to any unscented lotions or creams I might use. A bit of vanilla and coconut extracts added to my coconut oil skin moisturizer makes me feel like I’m enjoying an island beach getaway even though I live in cold Canada. I add the cocoa extract to homemade dark chocolate and use the banana extract to replace the bananas for low carb, gluten free banana nut bread made from co
“Amazing! I used your delicious flavor extracts in my ice cream already last week. The strawberry, dark chocolate, and orange; they make the flavors more rich and intense. I can’t wait to try the hazelnut and mango.”
“I’m in love with your extracts! Having been on a very restricted diet that allows for little to no sweet fruits, I now once again, get to enjoy the flavor the fruits I am avoiding at present. Thank you!”
Introducing Organic Flavor Extracts
There are some products that I have been using in my kitchen for the last year that I absolutely LOVE! In fact, they’ve recently migrated from my kitchen to my formulating room, and worked themselves into some of the products that we offer. A while ago one of my suppliers who has been adopted as family, gave me some amazing fruit extracts, and asked me to try them out and see what I could do with them. I’m always looking for ways to add unique flavors in unexpected places, and make delicious food taste even better. My whole family has had a blast using these incredible products. They smell and taste incredibly “REAL” - nothing fake about them at all. At first I had a hard time imagining how they could be so delicious, and still be totally natural. Seemed almost too good to be true!
It was time to do some research and understand how these amazing flavors were made. I discovered that the difference between an essential oil and a flavor extract is in the manufacturing process. Essential oils are generally distilled, and flavor extracts are made with a CO2 cold process. Carbon Dioxide is injected into the organic plant matter, forcing all the moisture out of the plant. This liquid is then highly concentrated and becomes an extract. Incidentally, extracts are water and oil soluble, and essential oils are oil soluble. All of these extracts are completely free of alcohol, wheat, gluten, and glycerin and are not diluted or “stretched” in any way. And best of all, they are totally “clean” as they meet EU Organic standards, which are more stringent than our US Organic requirements.
all heard of the amazing multi-faceted benefits of essential oils and their
many uses for the body. Oils such as lavender, peppermint , Jasmine and tea tree
are easily found in the health food market, but have you ever seen or heard of
cold processed essential extracts derived from organic fruits? How about an
extract made from pure coconut, or real vanilla from organic vanilla beans? Can
you imagine how deliciously aromatic these would be? Well you are in for a
treat! See the bottom of this page for recipes!
May I introduce to you Medicine Flower Flavor Extracts - offering over 40 different food grade, raw friendly, no additives added, plant extracts that absolutely delight the senses! Imagine being able to harness the aromatic essence of a fresh, ripe, organic peach, sun kissed straight off the vine raspberry, or succulent dark raw chocolate. This is exactly what Medicine Flower has achieved with their flavor extracts. The smell is simply intoxicating and the flavors are joy inducing.
These pure extracts can be used to add amazing flavor to recipes either raw or cooked, or as a scent to wear on the skin. They also can be added to unscented body moisturizers such as MSM lotion or Coconut Oil to customize your skin care and create an exotic signature scent. Our extracts are all extremely concentrated, so be modest when using them for the first time. For example, 2 - 3 drops will adequately flavor 16 oz of liquid, so start with just a tiny drop for both food and cosmetic purposes. When using these oils in food you will notice that there are no off tastes, or subtle chemical-like undertones. No alcohol is used so you get 100% pure plant flavor. This is very unusual in the world of flavor and oil extracts, as many use colorants, fillers, diluting agents, and preservatives – all of which are excluded from any of the Medicine Flower Flavor Extracts.
